DNAS replacement server On 1st April 2016 Sony decided to delete the nameserver entries for The server’s IPs are still active but DNS resolutions have to be done by running a bind server or dnsmasq or similar services. It’s foreseeable that Sony will shutdown the DNAS service in the near future. This again leaves customers and third party developers of revival servers in an uncomfortable position. Revival server projects need to find ways around DNAS because otherwise all their work would be useless as DNAS blocks the way. Patching DNAS out of the games is one possibility. The problem here is players need at least a softmodded console and patches have to be developed for every game in every region the revival servers support (for example GameSpy replacements). The other way would be to write a DNAS replacement server. And this is exactly what I am doing right now. So, stay tuned ;-)
